著名文學評論家夏志清病逝 享年92歲

著名文學評論巨擘夏志清於29日在紐約逝世，享年92歲。

夏志清著有「中國現代小說史」，今年2月台灣出版他的「張愛玲給我的信件」。

夏志清教授，江蘇吳縣人，1921年2月18日生於上海浦東，1942年自滬江大學英文系畢業，1946年9月隨長兄夏濟安至北京大學擔任助教，醉心西歐古典文學，因研究布萊克檔案(William Blake Archive)論文脫穎而出，取得留美獎學金，至耶魯大學攻讀英文碩士、博士。後來任教多所著名大學，最後在紐約哥倫比亞大學任教至退休。

夏志清在紐約州立學院任教時，獲得洛克菲勒基金會贊助，完成「中國現代小說史」一書，轟動各方，一時洛陽紙貴，奠定他學者評論家的地位。1961年任紐約哥倫比亞大學教席。2006年7月，當選中華民國中央研究院院士，是該院成立以來當選時最高齡的院士。
