主計總處指出，依經濟部智慧財產局統計，今（2013）年1至6月國內專利申請數約4萬件（平均每月6,728件），較上年同期微減0.01%，其中高階技術層次之「發明」2.3萬件最多，占了近六成，對物品形狀創作之「新型」1.2萬件次之。

另一方面，專利公告發證數3.5萬件，較上年同期增23.9%，其中發明公告發證數1.9萬件，較上年同期增62.8%，新型公告發證數則減6.3%。

此外，1到6月商標申請註冊數3.5萬件，較上年同期減5.3%，公告註冊數2.9萬件，亦減1.1%。
